When you log into Brevo for the first time, the dashboard can feel like a lot. There are menus, sub-menus, charts, and settings all competing for your attention. This guide gives you a complete orientation so you always know exactly where to find what you need.

The Main Navigation Bar

Brevo's navigation is organised into top-level sections accessible from the left sidebar (or top menu depending on your view). Here's what each section contains:

Campaigns

This is your home base for creating and managing email campaigns, SMS campaigns, and WhatsApp messages.

Inside Campaigns, you'll find:

  • My Campaigns — all campaigns you've created, with status (sent, scheduled, draft)
  • Create an Email Campaign — the entry point for new campaigns
  • Transactional — transactional emails and their logs
  • Statistics — performance overview across all campaigns

Automation

The Automation section is where you build and manage your automated email workflows — welcome sequences, re-engagement flows, cart abandonment, and any other trigger-based sequences.

Workflows are built visually using a drag-and-drop canvas. Each workflow starts with a trigger (e.g., "contact joins a list" or "contact opens an email") and then branches into conditions and actions.

Contacts

Everything related to your subscriber database lives here:

  • All Contacts — your master contact list with search, filter, and segment tools
  • Lists — your named contact groups
  • Segments — dynamic groups based on contact attributes and behaviour
  • Import Contacts — CSV import tool
  • Subscription Forms — embedded and popup opt-in forms

The Contacts section also shows individual contact profiles — click any contact to see their full history with your brand: emails received, opened, clicked, and any custom attributes you've stored.

Deals (CRM)

Brevo's built-in CRM is accessed through the Deals section. Here you can manage sales pipelines, track leads through stages, and associate contacts with deals. For businesses using Brevo as a light CRM alongside email, this section is genuinely useful.

Conversations

If you've installed the Brevo chat widget on your website, all live conversations are managed here. You can respond to visitors, view conversation history, and assign chats to team members.

Landing Pages

Create standalone landing pages for campaigns, lead magnets, and opt-in forms. Brevo's landing page builder uses the same drag-and-drop interface as the email editor.

Transactional

Dedicated section for SMTP and API transactional email management. This is where developers configure Brevo for sending password resets, order confirmations, and notification emails from applications.

The Dashboard Home Screen

When you first log in, the dashboard home screen shows:

  • Recent campaign statistics — open rates, click rates, and sends for your last campaigns
  • Quick action buttons — shortcuts to create a campaign, import contacts, or build an automation
  • Account health — any warnings about domain authentication, contact quality, or account limits
  • Brevo news — updates from the Brevo team about new features

Check the account health section regularly, especially when you're first setting up. Any red indicators here need to be resolved before you can reliably reach the inbox.

Settings

The Settings section (accessible via your account name or the gear icon) is where you manage:

  • Senders, Domains & Dedicated IPs — add and verify sender email addresses and authenticate your domain
  • API Keys — generate keys for developer integrations
  • Webhooks — configure real-time event notifications for your application
  • Users — invite team members (Business plan and above)
  • Billing & Subscription — manage your plan, view invoices, update payment method
  • Integrations — native integrations with WordPress, Shopify, Salesforce, and more

The Contact Profile View

One of the most useful parts of Brevo's interface is the individual contact profile. To access it, go to Contacts → All Contacts and click any contact name.

You'll see:

  • All contact attributes (name, email, phone, custom fields)
  • Email engagement history (sent, opened, clicked)
  • List memberships
  • Automation enrollment status
  • SMS history
  • Deal associations (if using the CRM)

This view is invaluable for debugging issues — if a contact isn't receiving emails, you can check their unsubscribe status, bounce history, and whether they're correctly enrolled in any active workflows.

Campaign Statistics Deep Dive

From Campaigns → Statistics, you can view aggregate performance across all campaigns or drill into individual campaign reports.

Each campaign report shows:

  • Open rate — percentage of recipients who opened the email
  • Click-to-open rate — percentage of openers who clicked a link
  • Unsubscribe rate — contacts who opted out
  • Bounce rate — hard and soft bounces
  • Heat map — a visual showing which links received the most clicks

Use these metrics to refine your subject lines, content, and sending times over time.

Getting Comfortable with the Dashboard

The best way to learn the Brevo dashboard is to explore it with a real purpose. Pick one feature — building a campaign, creating a list segment, or setting up your first automation — and work through it completely. The interface is logical once you've navigated it a couple of times.

Log in and explore.
